Donation - Olive Branch Fair Trade

Olive Branch Fair Trade is a 501c3 non-profit founded in 2018 as an economic empowerment project to present products created by Palestinian farmers and artisans to our local community and beyond. Your donation will make it possible for us to purchase more products so that traditional craftspeople and farmers and their families can survive and flourish. The post 1967 economy of East Jerusalem and the West Bank was based on tourism, especially to Holy Sites in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Covid shutdowns completely disrupted the economy for nearly 3 years. Tourism was beginning to recover, but the Israeli violence in Gaza and the West Bank has severely impacted that recovery. The Separation Barrier limits/prevents many Palestinians from reaching their farmlands and makes the sale of crafts abroad one of the few means for people to support their families. We can't use credit cards to buy products directly from the Palestinian territories. We have to pay by International Bank Wire, meaning we need cash on hand to buy these products. Thank you for reading these notes. We are grateful for your time and consideration and support. linda founder and volunteer director
